EWEA - Europe's Premier Wind Energy Event 
16-19 April 2012 BaltShip participated in Europe's premier wind energy event, EWEA. The Danish pavilion was opened by HRH the Crown Prince of Denmark and the Danish Minister of Trade and Industry, Ole Sohn, paid a visit to our booth. The event proved to be very successful with many great opportunities to create new and interesting business relations. |
First shipment to Gwynt Y Môr offshore wind farm
BaltShip has successfully delivered the first of 80 shipments with offshore foundations for the Gwynt Y Môr Windfarm located in the Irish Sea. The first shipment was loaded in Germany on 11 April and 5 days later the vessel arrived safely into Liverpool (Cammell Laird) where the foundations will be temporarily stored before the final offshore installation.
The project includes shipment of 160 foundations in total and is executed by use of three sister vessels with expected completion during 2013.
BaltShip deliveres cargo in Kandla, India

BaltShip has, in cooperation with the Indian partner UGL, just arranged the first coastal shipment of Renewable Energy in India. The cargo was loaded in Tuticorin and discharged in Kandla. A shipment between 2 ports in India requires a vessel with an Indian Flag. Baltship/UGL have great experience with operating in both ports. The entire scope included delivery to local site in India and all cargo was dellivered safely and on time.
BaltShip and Vanguard enter into preferred partnership agreement in South Africa.
In order to continue the positive cooperation achieved during transport and installation of some of the first wind turbines in South Africa, and to ensure capacity for the transport and installation for the coming wind projects in South Africa, BaltShip and Vanguard have decided to enter into a preferred partnership agreement. The intention of this partnership agreement is to ensure the ability to provide clients with a professional supply chain solution from port/production facilities around the world to delivered on site in South Africa. This is done by making sure that all transports are carried out according to the terms and conditions set forth in the industry with regards to professional on site management, compliance with HSE&Q and securing the vessel, truck and crane capacity needed for conducting the wind turbine logistics to and in South Africa. BaltShip will handle the international part of the agreement, such as logistics to the ports of loading, handling in the ports of loading and the sea freight to South Africa and Vanguard will ensure sufficient equipment to carry out the inland operation in South Africa, port handling and transport to site and crane for installation. The Managing Director Bryan Hodgkinson, Director Phillippe Tellier, General Manager for wind James Robinson from Vanguard signed the contract together with Sales Director Jeppe Frank and Sales Executive Søren Rasmussen, BaltShip in Johannesburg in April.
